When I began this circle with some overlapping leaves, I had not decided for sure if it would be a sun or a moon. I have wanted to try a few of Jude Hill’s techniques and so I began this piece for the Traveling Companion2 project I am working on and decided to try out these techniques. The first one I tried was on the outline of the circle. I did the wrapped back stitch. It is subtle but I liked the affect. I really wanted to try Jude’s version of the wrap stitch which see uses to fill in as a “liquid moon.” I was not very successful in this attempt, however, I really liked the wrap stitch to fill in the circle. I have decided this is a moon – an Autumn Moon. The leaves will be taking on autumnal colors too!
Slowly filling in the moon…. loving it.
